Your Privacy Matters
QR & Barcode Scanner ("the App") is a free Android application built to scan QR codes and barcodes, generate custom QR codes, and manage your scan history — entirely on your device.
This Privacy Policy explains what permissions the App requires, why it needs them, and how data is handled. By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
What We Collect
The App collects the absolute minimum to function. Here is a full breakdown:

Why We Ask for Permissions
The App requests only the permissions it genuinely needs. Each is explained below:

Camera Required to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. The camera feed is processed locally on your device. No images or video are ever stored or transmitted.

Flashlight (Torch) Used optionally to illuminate dark environments during scanning. You control it with the torch button in the scanner. Never activated without your action.

Internet Used only when you tap "Web Search" or "Open URL" to open a scanned link in your browser. The App itself makes no background network calls.

Read Media Images (Gallery) Requested only when you voluntarily choose to add a logo to your generated QR code. The App reads only the image you select; it does not browse your gallery.
Where Your Data Lives
All data created by the App — your scan history, favourites, and settings — is stored exclusively on your Android device using Android's built-in SharedPreferences storage system.
You can delete all stored data at any time by going to History → Delete All, or by going to Settings → Clear All History inside the App. Uninstalling the App also permanently removes all stored data.
No Third-Party Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer your data to any third party — because we don't have your data in the first place.
The App contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics frameworks (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.), no crash reporting services, and no social media integrations.
The only external service your device may contact is:

Children's Privacy
This App is suitable for all ages. Because the App collects no personal data whatsoever, it poses no privacy risk to children under 13 (COPPA) or under 16 (GDPR).
We do not knowingly collect any information from any user, regardless of age.
Control Over Your Data
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control at all times:

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
